You can't really make money in the public freemode sessions of GTA Online anymore. However, there is an easy method to separate yourself into a private public session (public solo) that allows you to have fun or do some grinding without being bothered by random players for a while. Let me show it to you.
Even though GTA V still costs about 30 dollars and GTA Online is supposed to earn hundreds of millions of dollars for its publisher, as a multiplayer game it's a complete piece of garbage. Despite being regularly updated with fresh content and having a microtransaction system, griefers, and more importantly cheaters rule the public sessions by terrorizing players and causing random glitches, while they're being worshipped by a large number of daft beggers.
However, a large portion of players want nothing to do with these toxic bums. Fortunately the technical problems of GTA Online allows us to be separated into a public private session with the use of the native tools of the Windows operation system. It also helps if your game seems to be stuck in a loading screen.
Instructions for public private sessions
- ALT+TAB to Windows desktop from the GTA Online.
- Open Task Manager. (Ctrl + Alt + Del or Ctrl + Shift + Esc)
- Open Performance tab.
- Open Resource Monitor. (It's actually perfmon.exe)
- In Resource Monitor open the Overview tab.
- Right click on GTA5.exe
- Click on Suspend Process.
- Wait about 10-12 seconds.
- Click on Resume Process.
- ALT+TAB back into the game.
- You should see all other players disconnect and the game telling you that you are alone in your session.
